Dismantling Joint

To make up for axial displacement during installation or removal of flanged pipework and components likes valves, meters and pumps, AVK offers its special product- dismantling joints.

2 main types of dismantling joints, in type A (100% restrained) & type B (50% restrained).

Features (Type A):

  • Counters the impact of expansion (up to 5 mm)
  • Ensures safety during movements of bridges, chambers and pump stations.
  • Offers a 3° angular deflection
  • Allows linking of mis-aligned pipes and equipment
  • Body / end ring:
    • Fabricated rolled steel grade S275JR according to EN 10025-1:2004.
    • Other grade or materials are also available upon request.
  • Stud/ hexagon bolt, nuts and washers:
    • Hot dip galvanized to EN 1461:2009.
    • Optional: Stainless steel grade 304 and 316.
  • Gasket / Sealing Ring:
    • Ethylene Propylene (EPDM) to MS672(1999) or EN 681-1:1996 (Table 2 – ‘WA’/’WC’).
  • Standard Corrosion Protection:
    • FBE – Fusion bonded epoxy powder coating internally and externally at 250μ min. thickness (up to DN1600), cold applied epoxy coating (>DN1600)

Features (Type B):

  • Dismantling Joint can compensate for differences in flange to flange distance.
  • Type B dismantling joints require less number of tie bars and flange holes, allowing easy installation of pipelines. Moreover, the tie bars act as flange joining bolts themselves, allowing a further simplified and swift installation without compromising on security, resistance and pressure rating of the system.
  • Body / clamping ring / end ring:
    • Fabricated rolled steel grade S275JR according to EN 10025-1:2004.
    • Other grade or materials are also available upon request.
